For whatever reason I see the allure of growing carrots and corn in a game, but pinatas just don't cut it.

Don't see where the disconnect is-- they're based on all sorts of animals, from hedgehogs, to horses, to eagles, to hippos. It's really quite amazing. Oh and if they piss you off you can smash them with your shovel, and the other pinata come to eat the spilled candy.
